When you buy online for detectors for your home, you’re most likely going to find photoelectric and ionization detectors. So let’s make your find right detectors by digging a bit deeper into what makes these detectors different. welcome to click“wired photoelectric smoke detector”
Photoelectric vs Ionization Smoke Detectors
There is one key difference between photoelectric and ionization smoke detectors. This is that photoelectric smoke detectors (such as wired photoelectric smoke detector) are more responsive to smoldering fires, otherwise known as flames that have been burning for a longer period. Simply put, this means that wired photoelectric smoke detectors can detect a smoldering fire before it erupts.
Meanwhile, ionization smoke detectors respond to the smoke produced by a flame. In other words, ionization detectors respond to “fast-flame” fires.
These ionization detectors are great for detecting fast-moving cooking fires or fires caused by burning paper or other flammable materials. They are dangerously slow at detecting smoldering fires (up to 50 minutes), which can pose a great risk for deadly smoke inhalation to anyone who happens to be inside the house. Another drawback of the ionization detector is the false alarms.
Photoelectric Detectors(wired photoelectric smoke detector)
These smoke detectors are the better choice for kitchens because they respond to smoldering fires before they erupt. The alarm sounds when smoke enters the chamber, scattering the light source that normally misses the light-sensitive electronic sensor.
which one is better for photoelectric and Ionization smoke detector ?
I think I prefer to choose photoelectric smoke detector(such as our wired photoelectric smoke detector), what about you?
